FHSAA announces partnership with Fergo Athletics to be 'official athletic uniform provider'

LAKELAND – Miami-based athletic apparel and uniform manufacturer Fergo Athletics is the newest partner in the growing “Team FHSAA” authenticating mark school merchandising program, the FHSAA announced here today.

Fergo joins the FHSAA and managing partner Team IP Sportswear, the FHSAA’s official merchandiser, in the partnership. Fergo will be recognized as the “Official Athletic Uniform Provider of the FHSAA.”

The announcement was made at halftime of the Class 1A state championship game during the 2006 FHSAA Boys Basketball Finals at The Lakeland Center.

“We are honored to have been selected by the FHSAA as its official uniform provider under the authenticating marks program,” said Peter Kafka, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Fergo. “Schools will be pleased with the quality, variety and styles that Fergo offers in every sport . . . and proud to wear the FHSAA’s mark on their uniforms.”

“We are excited by Fergo’s involvement in the authenticating mark program,” said FHSAA Commissioner John A. Stewart. “The program, which we launched last spring, has been limited to coaching apparel and off-field team attire in this first year. Fergo’s partnership now will allow us to expand the program’s offerings to include on-field apparel.”

Each school that participates in the program receives a royalty from the sale of all apparel that bears its marks. The apparel is authenticated with the FHSAA logo. Eventually, each school’s apparel will be made available for sale to its fans through the FHSAA online store.
